Expected Student Expenses:

The following expenses will vary by program and will be included on your Michigan Tech tuition bill:

1. Tuition and fees (all programs): partner program or Michigan Tech tuition and fees.
2. MTU Administration fee ($350) for 3 credits or more; ($100) for 3 credits or less. The fee is nonrefundable and cannot be credited toward tuition or any other fees.
3. Housing deposit (if applicable)
4. Housing fees (if applicable)
NOTE: billing for tuition, housing deposit and fees varies by program.

In addition to the tuition and program fee, students should plan for the following expenses NOT INCLUDED:

1. Airfare
2. ISIC card (international identification card)
3. Passport - if you do not hold a valid passport, please apply for one at this time.
4. Local transportation costs - varied depending on how much you travel.
5. Meals (except for those included in program fee).
6. Personal expenses and incidental.
7. Room and board (varies by program).
8. Books
9. Optional weeklong field trip.
10. Field study course.

Students should keep in mind that personal preferences regarding food, transportation/travel, entertainment and desired accommodations all affect the total cost of your program. Students are responsible for informing themselves and for planning a workable budget - the International Programs and Services will assist in every way possible to ensure a successful and rewarding study abroad experience.

Payment Process
1. Fees will be added to your Michigan Tech tuition bill. Follow the payment schedule set by MTU.
2. Changes to your program will require the Study Abroad Office to make adjustments to your MTU tuition bill and may include you owning additional fees or you may receive a credit to your account and this may occur after you pay your MTU tuition bill.  You will be notified of such changes.

NOTE: You are a student paying tuition for your study abroad session through your home university (MTU) and not directly to USAC, AustraLearn, JCMU, etc., please disregard any notices regarding payment requests and follow the payment schedule set by MTU.

*USAC, AustraLearn, JCMU, Curtin University, Kingston University are a few of the partner programs offered by Michigan Tech and items included in tuition and fees vary by each program.
