|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
In order to complete your studies at Michigan Tech and maintain your legal status in the US, you must have a current I-20. You can check item #5 on your current I-20 to determine when your program began and when it is expected end. This end date becomes the expiration date of your I-20. If you are not going to be done by this date, you must apply for a program extension. We recommend that you apply for an extension at least 30 days before the end date on your I-20. Failure to do so could jeopardize your legal status in the US, interrupt your studies, and put you out of status. Procedure for obtaining a program extension
